Late Bloom

There once was a time

When I was yours and you were mine.

It doesn’t seem like long ago.

Sometimes I miss it and others I don’t

Because some things end when they can’t go on.

At first I thought it could be fixed

But it turns out that was not our niche.

You didn’t want me to be myself

But I’m not one to cower down.

You didn’t make me feel like I could reach the stars

Yet some how I found comfort in your arms.

I’m happier now than I have ever been

I really thought that you would win.

It turns out that flowers are hard to bloom

when all they do is play under the moon.

If Spring brings rain

I know it won’t stay

Because losing you has allowed me to bloom.

  1. read your baby poem first and now this … so guessing baby’s father has left and you are blossoming … welcome to WP, nice to meet you 🙂

      1. They are all mine. I have a 9, 4, and 5 month old. Those are all just baby pictures of them. I guess we’re the variety pack. 😎

    1. I could not agree more. There were lessons learn and we share a beautiful son. He’s a great father but our relationship has to be reinvented to something else. So we’re working on a new one as coparents.
